ABOUT DR. PETERSON
My research is published in journals including Policy Studies Journal, Review of Public Policy, Society of Natural Resources, and Risk, Hazards & Crisis in Public Policy. My current research explores lived-experience, collaboration, technology and policy design, and equity in climate mitigation policies, and climate adaption practices, including projects on solar equity policy, cybersecurity policy, victimhood, and climate policy.
I came to Louisiana State University from University of South Alabama after graduating from Oregon State University’s School of Public Policy. I began my Ph.D. at Virginia Tech’s Center for Public Administration and Policy, after completing a Master of Public Administration at Auburn University Montgomery. Before graduate school, I worked in operations and risk management for Planned Parenthood of Alabama. I hold a B.A. double major in Sociology and English from Auburn University Montgomery and grew up in Louisville, Kentucky.

I currently live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with my spouse, children, cats, and dogs. I enjoy being outside, jogging and hiking, and hanging out with family and friends.
